This is vintage, early 20th century, about 1920- 1930's framed color lithograph print of a Dutch girl on a road with flowers that she is carrying by yoke and bucket. The image ia a reproduction of an 1887 painting by American artist, George Hitchcock (1850-1913). The original painting, known as 'Flower Girl in Holland' is in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. Hitchcock originally was a lawyer after graduating from Brown and Harvard, however he found little success as an attorney and by the 1870s was an ex-patriate in Holland who had taken up painting. It was a popular practice for publishers to print color lithograph images; these were sold through framing shops and intended as cheerful decorative wall art. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
