Hello Mike, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is a Machine Made Oriental Style Rug made in Turkey. The piece is centrally decorated with a very large central medallion. The general decoration of the piece mostly resembles the Ladik Rugs of Konya, Turkey. Of course original hand made pieces are a lot more precise and vibrant in comparison to these pieces. The decoration is entirely floral. The piece is entirely made of natual wool and market with a "Yün Damgası", translates as "Woolmark" which is a Turkish legal standart to ensure that the rug you own wasmade with wool on it's pile. The piece appears to be quite large, the central area of the piece was decorated on a red base while the borders of the piece were decorated on a beige base. The piece has a license number of "28 TU 75 W". The piece has a value as an interior but it does not hold an artistic or collectible value since it is not hand knotted.
