Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique Gothic Revival style carved walnut hall chair American or English, possibly as early as late 19th Century The tall back with arched and pierced swags and foliate-form carved back, over a trapezoidal with serpentine-shaped front rail, on turned legs. Seat upholstered in a striped fabric. 40 1/2 inches high, 18 inches wide, 17 inches deep CONDITION: upholstery probably later; otherwise appears to be in generally good condition. PROVENANCE: inherited $150-250* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
