1850 Bible Published by Virtue, Emmins and Roberts, London and New York

1850 Leather Bound Bible. Published by Virtue, Emmins and Roberts, London and New York. Made in 1850 printed paper bound in leather. Gorgeous cross on front and back with gold detailing as well as gold pages. Still has original silk bookmark from 1850. 321 x 278 x 144 mm I have seen nothing like this online besides the JFK family bible he was sworn in with. Even that does not have the detailing on the ends of the cross.

Dear Bridget, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal. The presented object appears to be a leather-bound bible published by Virtue, Emmins and Roberts, London, and New York in the year 1850. The cover is decorated with pressed and gilded decor. Sadly such bibles were printed in high editions and are often offered in auctions. This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 60 to 120 USD. This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary. With kind regards, Georg
