Its an oil painting on canvas by well known Indonesian artist, Affandi.The painting depicts skeletons of fishes symbolic of the overfishing in the region by irresponsible trawling activities impacting the lives of poor fishermen. The painting is done in abstract form and measures 120cm x 120 cm. Painted in 1980 it carries the familiar signature AF1980.

The painting was originally owned by a friend of Affandi , the artist. The owner wad staying in Jogjakarta. I bought it from him through an artist and dealer in Bandung, Mr Herru Prayogo in mid 2017. The painting is now kept in Kuala Lumpur.
